The world's way of making a good Christian is to lead him into conformity with itself and to reduce Christianity to a matter of ethics. The Bible's way is to separate the Christian from the world unto Christ, according to the grand truth that Christianity is not a moral code or an intellectual system, but a divine life, and one that is directly antagonistic to the world's life. The healthy Christian, therefore, is not he who is merely orthodox in doctrine, but he whose soul is in vital union with Christ.
