"MODIFIED DISPENSATIONALISM" DENIED
A Response to Brian Schwertley
by Greg Loren Durand

Exhibit G:
Brian Schwertley's Second 24 September 2007 E-Mail to Greg Durand

From: Brian Schwertley
To: Crown Rights Book Company
Subject: Clarification
Date: Mon, 24 Sept 2007 13:33:231

Greg,

I vaguely remember an article, which was what I asked for in the post you copied. I do not remember receiving the equivalent of a 175 page book. It was five years ago and if I did receive a book then I have a bad memory.

In order to work toward a possible reconciliation, let us clarify our positions. Would you please answer these questions?

1. You have already stated that the 10 commandments as part of the law given to Israel have indeed been abrogated. Are you now saying that you have changed your position?

2. When you say that Israel was put under a covenant of works with the second giving of the law on Sinai, are you saying they had to perfectly obey the law in order to be saved?

3. Could you explain how the Old Testament written moral laws apply to sanctification? Are they to be used at all or do Gentiles rely on natural law for sanctification?

4. Do you believe that Galatians is dealing with the Jewish law as it relates to justification, sanctification or both?

5. Name five conservative Reformed commentators or theologians who agree with your unique view of the second giving of the law on Sinai as a punishment for breaking the first copy of the Ten Commandments. Also, name 5 commentators who believe the expression "the law" in the New Testament refers to "the covenant of works" only. Please give specific references and page numbers. Give information from reputable reformed scholars from 1520 to the present.
