Dear Pastor Schwertley,
It is a bit more than an article, so I'll have to forward the chapters to you as attached files (thirteen chapters in all). Please let me know if something doesn't come through right.
I am sure that you won't agree with my conclusions, but I would like to get your feedback on whether I have misrepresented the writers I quoted, have failed to express myself clearly, have been unnecessarily uncharitable, etc. Please note that this is still pretty much a rough draft.
I unexpectedly underwent a shift to Amillennialism recently, and my acceptance of Reconstructionism/Theonomy went out the window with my former Postmillennialism. This thesis is an attempt to explain my shift in thought. My main focus was the writings of Gary North and R.J. Rushdoony, but since finishing the paper, I have found (and have been told) that I have indirectly attacked the very foundation of the RPCUS, and Chalcedon Presbyterian Church in particular (the latter of which I joined eight months ago). I am in a bit of hot water as a result, so any advice you may have toward facilitating a peaceful solution would be appreciated.
Just so you know, I have presented this paper to the session here along with a tentative request for a transfer of membership to a local PCA congregation. I will be happy to e-mail you my letter to the session if you wish to read it. I have left Chalcedon completely out of my paper and I have given the session my word that I will not launch a campaign against them or the church. They have been very kind to my family since we moved here last summer, and I don't want this to get ugly. These are doctrinal differences which would have prevented me from joining the church here had I fully understood them at the time, and I hope that a peaceful parting of the ways may be accomplished now that my views have changed.
Thank you for your time.
